Steak, Grits, Cheesy Eggs & Pancakes (Complete Breakfast Recipe)

  1. Bring 4 cups of water or broth to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Stir in the salt.
  3. Slowly whisk in the grits to prevent lumps.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Once creamy, stir in butter, cheddar cheese, and heavy cream.
  6. Keep warm until ready to serve.

Step 2: Make the Pancake Batter

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 3: Cook the Pancakes

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Lightly grease with butter.
  3. Pour about ¼ cup batter for each pancake.
  4. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface, about 2 minutes.
  5. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Stack pancakes and keep warm.

Step 4: Cook the Steak

  1. Pat steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub both sides with olive oil.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  5. Add steaks and sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  6. Add butter during the last minute and spoon it over the steaks.
  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 5–10 minutes.

Step 5: Prepare the Cheesy Eggs

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together.
  2. Melt butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Pour in the egg mixture.
  4. Stir gently as eggs begin to set.
  5. When almost cooked, add the shredded cheese.
  6. Continue stirring until creamy and fluffy.
  7. Remove from heat immediately.

Step 6: Assemble the Plate

  1. Place a generous scoop of creamy grits on each plate.
  2. Add a serving of cheesy scrambled eggs.
  3. Place the steak alongside the eggs and grits.
  4. Stack 2–3 pancakes on the plate.
  5. Top pancakes with butter and drizzle with maple syrup.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

  • Let the steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
