Garlic Butter Roasted Cabbage Steaks

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Remove any damaged outer cabbage leaves. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds, about 1 inch thick, creating cabbage “steaks.”

Arrange the cabbage slices on the baking sheet. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.

Spoon the garlic-butter mixture generously over each cabbage slice. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and Parmesan over the tops.

Roast for approximately 25–30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender in the center and the edges are golden brown and caramelized.

For extra browning, place the cabbage under the broiler for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching carefully so the toppings don’t burn.

Serve immediately while hot.

Why You’ll Love It

The cabbage becomes surprisingly sweet and tender as it roasts, while the edges develop a delicious caramelized flavor. The garlic butter adds richness, the bacon brings a smoky crunch, and Parmesan gives everything a savory finish.

It’s an easy way to turn an inexpensive head of cabbage into something that feels much more indulgent.

Tip: Keep the cabbage slices thick so they hold together during roasting. Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet either—giving the slices plenty of space helps the edges brown beautifully.
