Step 1: Prepare the Egg
Cook the egg thoroughly until both the white and yolk are firm.
Allow it to cool and remove the shell completely.
Step 2: Prepare the Yogurt
Place a cup of plain yogurt into a bowl.
Choose unsweetened yogurt if you want to keep added sugar low.
Step 3: Add Chia Seeds
Add approximately one tablespoon of chia seeds.
Let them sit for a few minutes if you prefer a softer texture.
Step 4: Add Fruit and Almonds
Add your favorite fresh fruit and a small handful of almonds.
Mix everything together and enjoy as a nutritious breakfast or snack.
Why Calcium Matters
Calcium is essential for normal bone structure and also plays important roles in muscle contraction and nerve function. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and is also important for bone health.
Getting these nutrients from a varied diet is generally preferable to relying on homemade remedies.
Good dietary sources of calcium include:
- Yogurt
- Milk
- Cheese
- Calcium-fortified plant beverages
- Sardines with edible bones
- Calcium-set tofu
- Some leafy green vegetables
- Fortified foods
What About Knee Pain?
Knee pain isn’t necessarily caused by a lack of calcium.
Osteoarthritis, injuries, inflammation, muscle weakness, excess strain, and several other conditions can cause knee pain. A calcium-rich food won’t necessarily treat the underlying problem.
If knee pain is persistent, severe, associated with significant swelling, or makes walking difficult, the cause should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
Why You Should Be Careful With Homemade Eggshell Powder
Although eggshells contain calcium, simply boiling shells and grinding them at home does not guarantee that the resulting powder is safe or appropriately processed.
Eggshells may carry bacteria, and improperly ground pieces can remain sharp. People with certain kidney conditions or those who already take calcium or vitamin D supplements may also need to limit additional calcium intake.
For these reasons, a properly manufactured calcium supplement is preferable if supplementation is medically necessary.
Support Your Bones Every Day
Strong bones depend on more than calcium alone. Regular weight-bearing activity, adequate protein, vitamin D, healthy body weight, and avoiding tobacco all contribute to long-term bone health.
A balanced diet can provide many of the nutrients your skeleton needs without relying on viral “miracle” recipes.
Eggs themselves are an excellent nutritious food, but the shell does not need to be eaten to make eggs beneficial. If knee or bone pain is stopping someone from walking normally, finding the underlying cause is much more important than relying on an eggshell remedy.
