Delicious Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Chops – Sweet, Juicy & Caramelized

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops

Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator about 15 minutes before cooking.

Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels. This helps the meat develop a beautiful golden-brown crust.

Season both sides lightly with black pepper, paprika, and a little salt. Be careful with the salt because soy sauce already contains plenty.

Step 2: Prepare the Brown Sugar Glaze

In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic.

Whisk everything together until the brown sugar begins to dissolve and the sauce becomes smooth.

Set aside half of the glaze for serving or finishing the cooked pork chops. Keep it separate from any glaze that touches raw meat.

Step 3: Heat the Skillet

Place a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.

Carefully place the pork chops in the skillet, leaving enough space between them so they brown properly. Cook in batches if necessary.

Step 4: Sear the Pork Chops

Cook the pork chops for approximately 3–4 minutes on the first side until a beautiful golden-brown crust develops.

Flip them carefully and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes.

The exact cooking time depends on the thickness of the chops.

Step 5: Add the Brown Sugar Sauce

Reduce the heat to medium-low.

Add the butter to the skillet and allow it to melt.

Pour the prepared brown sugar glaze over the pork chops, turning each piece gently so both sides become coated.

Step 6: Let the Glaze Caramelize

Continue cooking gently, spooning the sauce over the pork chops as it thickens.

The brown sugar and butter will create a glossy, sticky glaze that coats the meat beautifully.

Avoid cooking over high heat because the sugar can burn quickly.

Step 7: Check That the Pork Is Fully Cooked

Use an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of each chop, avoiding the bone.

For whole pork chops, cook to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), followed by at least a 3-minute resting period.

Step 8: Rest and Serve

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 3–5 minutes.

Spoon the remaining reserved glaze over the top and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.

Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
