Ingredients
- 5–6 fresh guava leaves (or bay leaves if unavailable)
- 1 small piece fresh ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Juice of half a lemon
- 2 cups water
- Optional: 1 teaspoon honey
Step 1 – Wash the Leaves
Carefully rinse the fresh leaves under cool water to remove dust and dirt.
Fresh clean leaves help improve both flavor and quality.
Step 2 – Prepare the Ginger
Slice or grate the ginger into small pieces.
Ginger adds warmth and aroma to the tea.
Step 3 – Boil the Water
Pour 2 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a gentle boil.
Step 4 – Add the Ingredients
Place the leaves, ginger, and cinnamon stick into the boiling water.
Reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for 10–15 minutes.
The water will slowly turn darker and aromatic.
Step 5 – Strain the Tea
Remove the pot from heat.
Pour the tea through a strainer into a cup or teapot.
Step 6 – Add Lemon and Honey
Stir in fresh lemon juice.
If desired, add a small spoon of honey for sweetness.
How to Enjoy This Tea
Many people drink:
- 1 cup in the morning
- Or 1 cup in the evening
It can be enjoyed warm and freshly prepared.
