A 36-hour journey for love
Rilynn traveled the road from Oregon to Los Angeles to meet Sadie.
In total, the journey lasted approximately 36 hours.
All this for one single reason:
Give this dog a chance to be happy.
The meeting took place in the refuge’s parking lot.
And it was impossible not to be moved.
The same dog that had remained huddled in a corner for so long now displayed contagious joy.
She was jumping, wagging her tail and seemed to understand that something extraordinary was happening.
It was as if she had finally found the person she had been looking for for so long.
A new life full of love
Today, Sadie’s life is completely different.
The gates remained behind her.
The cold floor of the kennel remained behind her.
The long nights of waiting were behind her.
She now has a home.
She has a family.
She has security.
She has affection.
In addition, she gained a canine companion with whom to share games, walks and rest times.
Those who follow his career clearly see the change.
The sadness has disappeared.
His lifeless gaze gave way to curiosity.
And the melancholic silence was replaced by the joy of living.
A story that inspires hope
Sadie’s story is much more than the tale of a successful adoption.
It shows the impact that patience, empathy, and compassion can have on an animal’s life.
Kelsey demonstrated that sometimes the first change occurs when someone simply stops to listen to and look at the one who is suffering.
Rilynn has proven that true love can travel hundreds of miles to find the one who needs it.

Behind the fear, sadness and mistrust, there is often only an animal waiting for a chance to love again.
Today, every time Sadie wags her tail alongside her new family, she reminds the world of a simple and powerful truth.
