Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Sticks

1. Prepare the pastry

Roll out your puff pastry slightly on a lightly floured surface. Keep it rectangular for easy cutting.

2. Add the filling

Spread a thin layer of mustard or cream cheese (optional), then layer the ham evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.

3. Fold and press

Fold the pastry over itself (like closing a book), then gently press down so everything sticks together.

4. Slice into sticks

Cut into strips about 1–2 cm wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

5. Twist (optional but beautiful)

Twist each strip a few times and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Egg wash & topping

Beat the egg with a bit of milk and brush over each stick. Sprinkle sesame seeds or herbs if you like.

7. Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
