1. Make the pudding mixture
In a large bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with the 2 cups of cold milk for about 2 minutes, until smooth and thickened.
2. Add the condensed milk
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and whisk until completely combined and creamy.
3. Fold in the whipped topping
Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture. Don’t overmix—you want the mixture light and fluffy.
4. Start the first layer
Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers across the bottom of a large baking dish or serving pan.
5. Add the bananas
Place a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
6. Add the pudding
Spread about half of the creamy pudding mixture evenly over the bananas.
7. Repeat the layers
Add another layer of vanilla wafers, followed by sliced bananas and the remaining pudding mixture.
8. Decorate the top
Arrange a few banana slices and vanilla wafers on top. Crush a handful of wafers and sprinkle the crumbs over everything for extra crunch.
9. Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. This allows the wafers to soften and the flavors to blend beautifully.
10. Serve
Scoop into bowls and serve cold. For the best texture, enjoy it within 1–2 days while the bananas and wafers are at their best.
🍌 Pro Tip
For bananas that stay fresh-looking longer, slice them just before assembling the pudding and make sure they’re completely covered by the pudding mixture.
