Texas Roadhouse’s Rolls

Ingredients:

1 packet dry active yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
Pinch of salt
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp softened unsalted butter
Honey Cinnamon Butter:
4 tbsp softened unsalted butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp honey
1 tbsp confectioners sugar
Instructions:

Preparation:
Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it rest.
Warm milk and buttermilk in a microwave-safe container, then stir in 2 tbsp of softened butter.

Mixing the Dough:

In a mixing bowl, combine milk mixture, yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth.
Beat in the egg until well combined.

Gradually add the remaining flour until the dough comes away from the mixer’s hook.

Rising and Shaping:

Shape the dough into a ball and let it rise for 1 hour.
Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into 12 rectangular shapes.
Shape into rolls and let them rise for 20 minutes on a lined baking sheet.

Baking:

Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Lightly brown the rolls after baking them for 12 to 15 minutes.
Optionally brush with melted butter on top.
Honey Cinnamon Butter:
Mix softened butter, cinnamon, honey, and confectioners sugar together.

Serving:

Serve the honey-cinnamon butter beside the heated buns.
