Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread

Ingredients:

2 tsp vegetable oil
2 onions, thinly sliced into rings
1/4 green pepper, thinly sliced
1/4 red pepper, thinly sliced
2 mushrooms, thinly sliced
300g steak (rib steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
150g white cheese (such as Kraft processed cheese) or 4 thin slices of provolone
Two hoagie loaves or two little, hot individual baguettes, each measuring around 20 cm
Pickled dill kosher

Instructions:

In a big skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.
Once the heat is reduced to medium, add the onions. Fry them for a minute.
Add the green and red peppers, as well as the mushrooms. Stir and cook until the mushrooms are dark and the onions become translucent. Stir regularly.
Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes or until the meat is slightly browned. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the provolone slices or white cheese over the cooked meat and vegetables until it melts. If you’re using a processed cheese that needs melting, you can melt it in a double boiler before adding it to the skillet.
Slice the hoagie breads or individual baguettes lengthwise, creating a pocket.
Fill the bread with the cooked steak, onions, peppers, and melted cheese mixture.
Garnish with pickled dill kosher to taste.
Serve the Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread while it’s hot.
Enjoy your delicious Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread!
