Ingredients:
For the Brownies:
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
For the Frosting:
2 tablespoons softened butter
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
Brownies:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Use foil to line a 9″ by 9″ baking pan.
Cream together sugar and melted butter until lightened. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Slowly add flour and cocoa powder, mix until uniform. Pour batter into the pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until a knife comes out mostly dry. Do not overbake for the best texture.
Frosting:
While brownies cool, make the frosting. Combine butter, milk, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar until smooth. Adjust consistency with milk or powdered sugar as needed.
Assembly:
Spread the frosting over warm brownies so it melts slightly. Cut into squares and use the foil to lift them out of the pan.
