Ingredients:
For the dough:
300g all-purpose flour
40g sugar
2g salt
7g dry yeast
1 egg
140ml warm milk
40g cream cheese
30g butter
For the custard filling:
300g custard
Directions:
Mixing the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, yeast, egg, and cream cheese. Mix the ingredients until thoroughly blended.
Adding Dry Ingredients: Stir in the salt and all-purpose flour. Work the dough into a smooth, elastic ball.
Incorporating Butter: Knead the soft butter into the dough until it is fully incorporated. Set the dough aside and let it rise for about 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Dividing and Shaping: Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
Filling with Custard: Flatten each dough ball and place a tablespoon of custard in the center. Seal the filling within by pinching the edges together.
Resting Period: Give the filled dough balls 30 minutes to rest so they may rise once more.
Arranging in the Pan: Roll out each dough ball slightly and place them in a round baking pan, overlapping them.
Final Rise and Baking: Set the assembled dough balls aside for an additional 1 hour to rise. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Bake the sweet bread for approximately 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush the top with butter before serving.
Enjoy your homemade sweet bread!
