Ingredients:
One box of Duncan Hines cake mix with butter recipe
1 cup cake flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream, room temperature
1 stick butter, room temperature
5 eggs, room temperature
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon butter flavoring
1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Grease the Pan: Generously grease a tube bundt pan with Baker’s Joy.
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, cake flour, sugar, sour cream, butter, eggs, oil, water, vanilla extract, butter flavoring, and almond extract until smooth. Be careful not to overmix.
Bake the Cake: Fill the prepared pan with batter, then bake for 55 to 65 minutes in a preheated oven, or until a toothpick or fork inserted in the center comes out clean. After taking the cake out of the oven, allow it to cool for ten to fifteen minutes before turning it over and placing it on a platter.
Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is cooling, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice to your desired consistency, aiming for a thick, nectar-like texture.
Glaze the Cake: Using the back of a spoon, apply the glaze over the heated cake a bit at a time so it may soak in.
Serve: Cut the cake into slices and serve it warm or room temperature. Have fun!
