Ingredients:
500 g (1 pound) flour
150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm milk
150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm water
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp dry yeast
3 tbsp olive oil
Chopped parsley
Chili flakes
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt with a whisk. Add the warm milk and water, and knead the mixture until the liquids are absorbed.
Mix in the olive oil and continue kneading until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. This may take around 10 minutes.
Shape the dough into a ball, coat it with vegetable oil, and cover it. Set it aside in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
Cut the dough into six equal pieces when it has risen.. Roll each piece into a ball.
Take each ball of dough and roll it out into a flatbread shape.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and place the rolled-out flatbread on it. Cook for about 2.5-3 minutes on each side, or until they develop golden brown spots and puff up.
When flipping the flatbread, press down gently in the middle to create a pocket.
Once cooked, remove the flatbread from the pan and brush them with oil.
Sprinkle chopped parsley and chili flakes on top of each flatbread.
Serve the Turkish bread warm and enjoy it as a delicious accompaniment to your meals or as a base for wraps and sandwiches.
Enjoy your homemade Turkish bread!
