Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons Hershey’s cocoa
1 stick of salted butter
5-ounce can of Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Nuts (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare an 8×8 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar and Hershey’s cocoa. Whisk them together until well integrated.
Add the stick of salted butter and the can of Carnation Evaporated Milk to the sugar and cocoa mixture.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly After bringing the mixture to a rolling boil, boil it for three to four minutes.
You’re aiming for a soft ball stage consistency. To test this, drop a tiny amount of the mixture into cold water. If it forms a soft ball, it’s ready.
Once off the heat, stir in the teaspoon of vanilla extract.
If desired, fold in nuts for added crunch and flavor.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Allow the fudge to cool for several hours. Let it sit for the entire night for the finest effects.
Once fully set, lift the fudge out using the parchment paper and place it on a cutting board.
Using a sharp knife, cut the fudge into squares.
