Chocolate Christmas Cake

 

Ingredients:
150g Fun Cakes Mix for Choco Sponge Cake
200g Fun Cakes Mix for Buttercream
Fun Cakes Chocolate Decorations (Candy Cane, Xmas Figurines, Santa)
Fun Cakes Bake Release Spray
Van Houten Rich Deep Brown Cocoa Powder
250g unsalted butter
230ml water
2 eggs (approx. 100g)

Method:

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for a convection oven). Grease your baking pan using the Fun Cakes Bake Release Spray.

Bake the Sponge Cake: Prepare 150g of Fun Cakes Mix for Choco Sponge Cake according to the instructions on the package. Pour the choco cake batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for approximately 30-35 minutes. After baking, place the cake on a cooling grid to cool.

Make the Buttercream: Prepare 200g of Fun Cakes Mix for Buttercream following the package directions. Sift 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa powder into the buttercream and mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth chocolate butter cream. To suit your preferences, adjust the amount of cocoa powder.

Assemble the Cake: Use a cake leveler to slice the cake into 2 or 3 layers. Cover the entire cake with the chocolate buttercream after filling and frosting it. . Let the cake set in the refrigerator. Once set, apply a second layer of chocolate buttercream and let it set again in the refrigerator.

Decorate: Finish by decorating the cake with the Fun Cakes Christmas Chocolate Decorations.
