BBQ Wings with Homemade Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

4 pounds of chicken wings
Salt and pepper
1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
1/2 cup Open Pit barbecue sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
Tabasco to taste (optional)
Large baking sheet or broiler pan
Slow cooker or foil-lined baking dish

Directions:

Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry. Cut off and discard the wingtips. Sprinkle the wings with salt and pepper and place them on a broiler pan or a baking sheet lined with foil.
Broil the wings 4 to 5 inches away from the heat for 20 minutes, turning them once during the middle of broiling.
Transfer the broiled chicken wings to a slow cooker. In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients (Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, Open Pit barbecue sauce, honey, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt, and Tabasco if desired). Stir well to combine.
Pour the sauce over the chicken wings in the slow cooker, making sure they are coated evenly. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a slow cooker, you can place the chicken wings in a foil-lined baking dish, coat them with the sauce, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 350°F (175°C). Remove the dish from the oven, turn the wings over, coat them again with the sauce, and cook for another 30 minutes.
Once cooked, serve the BBQ wings hot and enjoy the delicious homemade sauce.
This recipe yields tender and flavorful BBQ wings with a homemade sauce that combines the tangy sweetness of barbecue sauce with honey, mustard, and other savory ingredients. Whether cooked in a slow cooker or in the oven, these wings are sure to be a crowd-pleasing favorite.
