Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage Soup

Ingredients:

1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

In a large pot, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
When the onion is transparent, add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the saucepan.

Pour in the chicken broth, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. After bringing the soup to a simmer, cook it for ten to fifteen minutes.

Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until the soup is heated through and slightly thickened.
Add salt and pepper to taste when preparing the soup.
