Classic Tres Leches Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Cake:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup whole milk

For the Three Milk Mixture:

14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
12 ounces evaporated milk
1 cup whole milk

For the Topping:

2 cups whipped cream
Fresh fruits for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan. In a larger basin, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another large basin, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition.  Add the vanilla essence and stir.
Start and finish with the flour combination, then alternately add the milk and flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix until barely incorporated.

Evenly distribute the batter after pouring it into the pan. A toothpick put into the center of the cake should come out clean after 25 to 30 minutes of baking. Let the cake cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk to make the three milk mixture.
While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the surface using a fork or skewer. Gradually pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. Continue pouring until all the milk mixture is used. Let the cake cool completely.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped cream over the top, covering the entire surface. You can also decorate with fresh fruits if desired.
Refrigerate the cake for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the cake to become even more moist and creamy.
Serve the Classic Tres Leches Cake chilled for a delightful and indulgent dessert experience.
Enjoy this beloved and flavorful dessert that combines moist cake soaked in a rich three milk mixture and topped with creamy whipped cream. Whether it’s for a special occasion or simply to satisfy your sweet tooth, this Classic Tres Leches Cake is sure to be a hit!
