Homemade Blueberry Pop Tarts Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Pastry:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
4-5 tablespoons cold water
1/2 cup blueberry preserves
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

For the Icing:

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Flour and sugar should be combined in a big basin.
. Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter to incorporate it until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add the cold water and mix until a dough forms. Refrigerate the dough for half an hour after wrapping it in plastic wrap.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).On a surface dusted with flour, roll out the dough to a thickness of approximately 1/8 inch.

Cut the dough into rectangles and place a small spoonful of blueberry preserves on one half of each rectangle. Brush the edges with the beaten egg, fold over the dough, and press the edges to seal.
Arrange the baked pastries onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Apply the beaten egg to the tops.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastries turn golden brown.
In a separate bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the icing.
Once the pastries have cooled, drizzle the icing over them.
