How to Clean Your Oven Naturally After Holiday Cooking

If your oven has accumulated grease, baked-on food, and stubborn spots after lots of holiday cooking, you don’t necessarily need harsh commercial oven cleaners. Here are four simple methods using ingredients you may already have at home.

Method 1: Baking Soda + All-Purpose Spray

What you need

  • Baking soda
  • All-purpose cleaning spray
  • Stiff cleaning brush
  • Damp cloth

Steps

  1. Make sure the oven isĀ completely cool.
  2. Remove the oven racks and brush or wipe away loose crumbs and food debris.
  3. Lightly spray the dirty surfaces with your homemade all-purpose cleaner.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda over the wet areas.
  5. Let it sit for several minutes.
  6. Scrub the buildup with a stiff brush.
  7. Wipe everything thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth.
  8. Rinse the cloth and wipe again until no cleaner or baking soda residue remains.
