Ingredients:
240 ml (1 cup) warm milk
1 egg
75 g (1/4 cup) condensed milk
30 g (2 tbsp) sugar
7 g (2 1/4 tsp) dry yeast
520 g (4 1/4 cups) flour
1 tsp salt
50 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
45 g (3 tbsp) butter (for brushing)
45 g (3 tbsp) condensed milk (for brushing)
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together the sugar and condensed milk with warm milk. Add the dry yeast and egg, then whisk again.
In a separate large bowl, combine the wet mixture with the flour and salt to form the dough.
Use dough hooks or knead by hand until the dough comes together. Add the softened butter and continue kneading for about 10 minutes.
Allow the dough to rest for 1 hour, covered, until it doubles in size.
Divide about 2/3 of the dough and roll it into a 25×40 centimeter rectangle.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into pieces. Place the dough pieces in a preheated baking dish and set them aside.
Repeat the process with the remaining 1/3 of the dough to make smaller buns.
Allow the rolls to rest for another hour, covered, until they rise.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Brush the top of each bun with egg wash before baking.
Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. For smaller buns, 20 minutes should suffice.
In a small bowl, whisk together the butter and condensed milk in equal proportions. Apply this mixture to the warm buns while they are still warm.
Once completely cooled, remove the baked goods from the baking pans.
Tips for Success:
Use fresh ingredients for the best results.
Make sure ingredients like eggs and butter are at room temperature.
Give the dough enough time to be kneaded properly for a fluffy texture.
