Chicken Parmesan Calzone

Ingredients:

1 pound pizza dough
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions:

Adjust the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and gently oil or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large circle or rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to a small bowl. Coat the chicken with the spices by well mixing.
With a 1-inch margin all around, evenly cover the pizza dough with the marinara sauce.
Evenly distribute the seasoned chicken over the sauce, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.

To cover the filling, fold the dough in half. Seal the edges of the calzone using your fingers or a fork to ensure no filling escapes during baking.
Brush the top of the calzone with olive oil and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over it.
Carefully transfer the calzone to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is crispy and golden brown, in a preheated oven.
Remove the calzone from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your homemade Chicken Parmesan calzone ! If preferred, serve it with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
Note: Feel free to adjust the seasonings and cheese quantities according to your taste preferences.
