Southern Beans with Smoked Turkey Legs and Potatoes

Ingredients:

Two pounds of freshly cleaned and trimmed green beans
1 pound smoked turkey legs
64 ounces of either turkey broth, chicken broth, or water
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 medium onion, chopped
4-5 medium russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions:

Place the smoked turkey legs in a large pot.
Pour the water, chicken broth, or turkey broth into the pot and turn the heat to high.
Cook the turkey legs until they are tender, then remove them from the pot. Do not drain the liquid from the pot as it will be used later.
Shred or dice up the turkey meat, ensuring that all bones and skin are removed.
Add the green beans, smoked turkey, onions, and garlic into the pot with the liquid.
Sprinkle in the seasoning salt and ground black pepper, and stir the ingredients.
Cook for about 10 minutes, then add the chopped potatoes.
Continue cooking until everything is tender, or cook to your desired preference.
Serve and enjoy the Southern beans with smoked turkey legs and potatoes, alongside cornbread if desired.
Enjoy this flavorful Southern dish!
