aquitos (Air Fried, Pan Fried, or Baked)

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef or chicken
1 onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8-10 corn tortillas
Oil, for frying (if pan-frying or deep-frying)

Directions:

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or chicken over medium heat until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat, if necessary.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
Preheat your Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C), or preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) if you plan to bake the taquitos.
Take a corn tortilla and place approximately 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, tucking in the ends to seal.
Proceed with the remaining tortillas and meat mixture in the same manner.

Cooking methods:
Air Fryer Method: Once the Air Fryer is preheated, add the taquitos in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
Pan Fry Method: In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and wait until hot. Add the taquitos and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until crispy and golden brown.
Baked Method: Place the taquitos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray lightly with oil and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
Top the heated taquitos with your preferred salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or cilantro.
