Ingredients:
BROWNIES:
2 eggs
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup regular sour cream
1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
3 large ripe bananas, mashed
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp kosher salt
2 cups chopped pecans
FROSTING:
½ cup unsalted butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
3 tbsp whole milk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick baking spray and line it with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper with nonstick baking spray as well. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly using an electric mixer.
To the bowl, add the mashed bananas and vanilla essence.
Mix again until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate basin. Mix thoroughly after adding the dry components to the liquid ones.
Add the chopped pecans and stir. Using the prepared baking pan, pour the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes.Test the brownies’ doneness by sticking a toothpick into the middle. The brownies are done if the test tube is clean.
Allow the brownies to cool after removing them from the oven. For the frosting, brown the butter by slicing the chilled butter and heating it in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Whisk often and watch for the butter to foam and develop light brown specks at the bottom of the skillet. Once it has a nutty scent, pour the melted butter into a bowl.
Add the powdered sugar to the bowl, one cup at a time, stirring immediately after each addition. Make sure all the powdered sugar is blended with the melted butter.
Stir in the milk and vanilla extract using an electric mixer to blend everything together.
Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, covering the entire surface.
Once the frosting is set, cut the brownies into bars.
