Tea Buns

Ingredients:

3 cups flour
2 teaspoons yeast
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and warm milk (make sure the milk is not hot as it can kill the yeast). Mix well and cover the bowl. Let it sit for about 5-7 minutes to allow the yeast to activate and become foamy.
Add the egg, melted butter, flour, salt, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar to the yeast mixture. Mix everything together until well combined.
After transferring the dough to a surface dusted with flour, knead it for approximately ten minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth.
After the dough has doubled in size, put it in a bowl that has been oiled, cover it, and let it rise in a warm location.
Punch down the dough to release the air once it has risen. Form the dough into little balls and put them in a baking tray that has been oiled.

. Cover the dish and let the dough rise for a second time.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
Bake the tea buns in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
As soon as you take the buns out of the oven, brush them with melted butter to add flavor and moisture.
Enjoy your freshly baked tea buns!
