Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients (Servings 6):

1 pound ground sausage
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
4 large eggs, beaten
2 cups whole milk
Six pieces of white bread, sliced into cubes and toasted
1 cup mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:

Once the sausage is properly browned, crumble it into a medium pan and cook over medium heat. Drain the excess fat.
In a medium bowl, mix together the mustard powder, salt, beaten eggs, and milk.
Add the cooked sausage, bread cubes, and shredded cheese to the bowl. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and pour the mixture into it.
Refrigerate the dish for eight hours or overnight with a cover on.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Bake the casserole covered for 45 to 60 minutes.
Uncover the dish and reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius).
Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the casserole is set.
Remove from the oven, cut into servings, and serve hot.
