Ingredients:
2 (15 oz) cans peaches, drained
2 (8 ounce) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 ½ cups Sprite or citrus soda
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and thoroughly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Open the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Place one or two peach slices (depending on size) at the wide end of each dough triangle. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the peaches, then roll the dough around the peaches to form dumplings.
Transfer each dumpling to the greased baking dish. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and peaches.
In a large bowl, melt the two sticks of butter. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the remaining cinnamon to the melted butter. Mix the ingredients until they are fully blended and smooth.
Using a large spoon, pour the butter mixture over the dumplings in the baking dish.
Pour the Sprite or citrus soda around the dough, being careful to avoid pouring it over the tops of the dumplings. This will help create a crispy crust on the dumplings.
Bake the dumplings in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dough is just browning on top.
Serve the peach dumplings warm, and top each serving with vanilla ice cream.
