Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

1 pound breakfast sausage (hot or mild)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 to 4 cups whole milk (more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
12 cooked biscuits, warmed, for serving

Instructions:

In a large heavy skillet, tear small pieces of sausage and add them in a single layer.
Over medium-high heat, brown the sausage until it loses its pink color.
After lowering the heat to medium-low, coat the sausage with half of the flour.. Stir well to ensure the sausage absorbs the flour, then add more flour little by little, stirring after each addition.
Cook the sausage and flour mixture for another minute or so.
Slowly pour in the milk while continuously stirring.

Cook the gravy over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens. This process may take roughly 10 to 12 minutes.
Sprinkle in the seasoned salt and black pepper, and continue cooking until the gravy reaches a thick and luscious consistency. If the gravy becomes too thick too soon, add another 1/2 cup of milk or more as needed to adjust the consistency.
Taste the gravy and adjust the seasoning if desired.
Serve the heated biscuits with a spoonful of sausage gravy right away.

It is simple to double this recipe to feed 24 people..
