Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
Adjust the oven temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius) and place parchment paper on a baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Add the cubed cold butter to the flour mixture and cut it in using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Create a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until just combined, leaving some lumps.
After transferring the dough to a surface dusted with flour, give it a few gentle kneads until it comes together..
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch and use a biscuit cutter or a drinking glass to cut out biscuits, pressing straight down without twisting.
Leaving room between each cookie, place the biscuits on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
Gather the remaining dough scraps, knead them together, and roll out the dough again to cut out additional biscuits.
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on top.
After taking the biscuits out of the oven, place them on a wire rack to cool somewhat.
Serve the Butter Buttermilk Biscuits warm with butter, jam, or your preferred toppings.
Enjoy your freshly baked Butter Buttermilk Biscuits!
