Lemon, Garlic, Ginger and Cinnamon Wellness Blend

This traditional mixture combines lemon, garlic, ginger, onion, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. Many people prepare it as a homemade wellness tonic during cold and flu season. While these ingredients contain vitamins, antioxidants, and beneficial plant compounds, there is no scientific evidence that this mixture can cure diseases or “heal the body naturally” on its own.

Ingredients

  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 1 whole garlic bulb, cloves peeled
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 2 inches fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the lemons thoroughly and slice them. Peel the garlic cloves, slice the onion, and cut the ginger into thin pieces.

Step 2: Combine Everything

Place the lemon, garlic, onion, ginger, cinnamon sticks, peppercorns, and cloves into a large pot.

Step 3: Add Water

Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Step 4: Simmer

Reduce the heat and simmer for 20–30 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

Step 5: Strain

Remove from heat and strain the liquid through a fine sieve.

Step 6: Sweeten (Optional)

Add honey after the mixture has cooled slightly and stir until dissolved.

Step 7: Serve

Drink warm or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
