Famous Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi

Ingredients:

1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon pure olive oil
2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
1 1/2 cups white wine (such as chardonnay)
Juice of 1/2 fresh lemon
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup softened butter
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Heat a cast iron skillet and add olive oil.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they are tender and no longer translucent. Reduce the heat and remove the shrimp from the skillet, setting them aside.
In the same skillet, add the chopped garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes. Garlic can turn bitter if it is allowed to brown, so proceed with caution.
Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Cook until the wine is reduced by half. Then, add the Italian seasoning.
Reduce the heat to low and add the softened butter to the skillet. Make sure the pan is not too hot, as the butter may separate.
Return the cooked shrimp to the sauce in the skillet. Add the chopped parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the shrimp scampi.
Serve the famous Red Lobster shrimp scampi immediately, ideally with pasta or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
