Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients:

– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
– 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
– 2 large eggs, room temperature
– 2 tablespoons red food coloring
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon white vinegar
– Cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Directions:

1. Set the oven’s temperature to 175°C/350°F. Butter and dust two 9-inch circular cake pans.
2. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder in a large mixing basin.
3. Combine the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, red food coloring, and white vinegar in a another bowl. Blend well.

4. Stirring until just blended, gradually add the wet components to the dry ingredients. Take cautious not to blend too much.
5. Evenly distribute the batter among the ready-made cake pans.
6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, in a preheated oven.
7. After letting the cakes cool in the pans for ten minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
8. Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting between the layers and on top.
